ARTICLE II PURPOSE

The purpose of the association shall be:

1. To educate New Kingston Valley residents about the traditions and lifestyle of the New Kingston Valley.

2. To promote, preserve and enhance the New Kingston Valley’s rural and agricultural heritage through public seminars and lectures.

3. To establish a center for the preservation of oral and written histories and artifacts of the New Kingston Valley area.

4. To provide grants to artists, artisans, writers and other creative per-sons involved in creative endeavors relative to the promotion, preservation and enhancement of the New Kingston Valley. Notwithstanding any other provision of these articles, NKVA is organized exclusively for one or more of the following purposes: religious, charitable, testing for public safety and education, as specified in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 as amended, and shall not carry on any activities not permitted to be carried on by an association exempt from Federal income tax under sections 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code of 1986 as amended.
